Into the Dragon's Den

The first weekend of February sees me off to the UK to go to the Dragon Rally. I'm so looking forward to it I can hardly wait!

For the first time I'm going to the Dragon Rally, which has been around since 1962. So actually it was about bloody time. I'm going with my buddy Jon, who is from the UK but currently works in Oslo, and a couple of his mates.

I must admit, though, that I'm cheating a bit because I'm flying - not riding - over to UK where Jon has set me up with the old BMW R80 you see on the pic above. It's so ratty I'm actually very much looking forward to riding it to Wales, even if it's a BMW ;-) Talk about taking the rat to the Dragon... I think it can do well in the Rat Bike competition.

I'm flying out together with Jon on Wed 3 Feb to have a couple of days at his place to get things sorted before we hit the road towards Wales on Fri 5 Feb. The rally itself is held from Sat 6 to Sun 7 Feb. Its location is never revealed until the morning on Sat. Jon and his mates usually rides out on Friday to take one night in a place not far from the area which the rally is held. I suspect there will be a fair amount of Horse's Neck consumed...

The UK has seen its share of snow this winter. Perhaps we're really lucky to have some of it while we're there as well?
