So I've started to get hold of the necessary bits and pieces to rebuild the SP1000 into the great classic racer I hope it will become. Most noteably I've got hold of a tank from a V7 Sport.
I bought the tank off fellow Guzzisti Rolf Johansen who also brought me a couple of fairings, including a Le Mans 1 fairing. My wife, who's going to race the bike, wanted the larger one so I had to buy two.
My other advisor into this project, mech tech wizard Knut Holte, brought me a couple of racing tyres that will fit the SP1000 wheels straight on. He also brought me a wheel for my T5 and even brought casting forms from which we could make a fairing but I had already bought the stuff from Rolf.
I'm now (still) waiting for a seat and padding foam from the German company Ricambi Weiss. They sent it 2 Nov, but as of writing this I haven't received it yet. I hope next week will see my parcel arrive. I tend to buy most off Ebay, e.g. cylinder head guards, RAM single plate clutch etc. As the parts come in I'll start putting them all on the rather naked frame.
At least I know how I'll be spending Christmas ;-)
